Outdoor Wedding - Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio

If you would like to have a wedding in the park or have your wedding photos taken here, you must first obtain a Special Use Permit for wedding-related activities. Phone (440) 526-5256 to be directed to the appropriate staff person. You must call 14 or more days in advance in order to be considered for a wedding-related Special Use Permit. Please note: No wedding permits will be used for the month of October.

The following rate chart applies for all wedding related activities.

The following restrictions apply to all wedding-related events so please read this page carefully to be certain you are interested before calling. These conditions must be agreed to in writing:

1. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the park

2. A non-refundable fee as per the above fee schedule will be charged to pay unbudgeted park costs. A bond and insurance is not required.

3. In accordance with Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations an application, in writing, must be submitted in time to reach the Superintendent at least 14 days in advance of the proposed event. Wedding-related events not meeting this time requirement will not be granted and the applicant will be so notified by phone, if possible.

4. Only one wedding event will be approved in each district on a Saturday, and only between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Only one wedding-related event will be approved in each district on a weekday, Monday through Friday, but available hours are 8:30 a.m. through dusk. Wedding related events will not be approved on Sundays. Walkways, hiking, or horse crossing access may not be blocked during a wedding ceremony.

5. At Brandywine Falls, wedding ceremonies on the walkway may be held only on the lower wooden platform. They are limited to one hour excluding photography. Wedding photography at the lower deck of Brandywine Falls must be requested and is limited to 30 minutes. At Brandywine Falls, nothing may be stapled or attached to the walkway at any time. Brandywine Falls wedding events should involve standing participants only without chairs or other seating. Wedding events and photography will not block walkways at any time.

6. Wedding photography at other park areas will generally be limited to 30 minutes.

7. The park may limit both the number of persons and the number of vehicles at a wedding.

8. No rice, bird seed, confetti, streamers, or other items may be thrown or used at any time in the park.

9. There are several additional permit conditions that you will be required to agree to in writing.
